The mod's upcoming 4.0 update will focus on the Galactic Conquest side of things, redesigning ground and space buildings, but the post detailing it also points out that work on ground combat has also resumed. The team behind the Empire At War Remake: Galactic Civil War mod went as far as disabling land battles due to the discrepancy in quality between them and the modded content. Since all of the work currently went into improving visuals and space combat, the ground portion of the game hasn't received much love. As significant as its additions are, the Remake mod still feels very much like Star Wars: Empire At War. Better yet, all the changes introduced so far kept track of the base game's design philosophy. These changes also brought a gradual rebalancing of the combat system which now better emphasizes the features available in the base game.
Going in, players have more options in terms of how they set up their fleet. The available pool of ships, both large and small, has been consistently expanded since development began. But visual improvements aren't the sole thing the mod focused on thus far.
